Animal Crossing: New Horizons has many ways for villagers to get rich, but no method works as well as finding, buying and selling turnips. Turnips and their mechanics are the Animal crossing version of the stock market, aptly named the “Stalk Market” by the community. However, this opportunity only presents itself once per Sunday for a limited window of time, so anyone trying to make as many bells as possible quickly should be prepared.
Like stocks, turnip prices fluctuate and can actually cost players bells if not sold properly. Two important things to know about turnips in Animal crossing do they rot after a week of non-sale and cannot be stored like other items. If someone doesn’t have the inventory space to hold them, the only thing they can do is drop the turnips on the ground.
Every Sunday from 4 a.m. to 12 p.m. Animal crossing, a warthog character named Daisy Mae will roam around the island with turnips on her head. Daisy Mae only sells turnips with prices ranging from 90 to 110 bells. Only stacks of 10 can be kept per inventory slot at a time, but as long as Daisy is there, players can purchase more turnips. After Daisy Mae leaves, speak with Timmy and Tommy at Nook’s Cranny to see what their prices are for buying turnips.
How to find, buy and sell turnips in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
The prices of turnips Timmy and Tommy change twice a day in Animal crossing, once in the morning and once in the afternoon Unlike Daisy Mae’s prices, Timmy and Tommy can offer as few as 15 bells or as many as 650 bells for turnips. As with the stock market, holding too long can result in a missed opportunity for the highest prices of the week, and selling too early could result in missed profits. Of course, the main difference is that turnips will deteriorate after a week of storage.
If Timmy and Tommy seem to have low purchase prices every time they change, it’s best to talk to a friend to see what their prices are. Although Animal crossing is connected to the internet, everyone’s turnip prices are different. Players can fly to a friend’s island if they have high turnip prices and sell them there. As a last resort, players can sell turnips as close to the purchase price as possible to avoid any loss of bells.
